Same Product, Same Price, Different Model = More Customers

I just added a new example to the resources section after an experience I had over the weekend.
At a local food market there is a vendor who sells a product ribs using two different pricing models. Sometimes he sells them by the rack, but most commonly he sells them by the pound.
When priced by the rack I almost always purchased them, when priced by the pound I always avoided them. The per-rack model appealed to me more and felt like a much better deal.
As it turns out the final price was almost identical, and a conversation with the butcher revealed that this was a perfect example of using different pricing models, or even just expressions of price, to attract different customers.
